THE RATES IN MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTION

Do you want to outsource your medical transcription? Before you hire a company it would be good to be acquainted with how the transcription fees are normally charged:

Minimum charges – This is the fee that usually applies to very  short audio or video materials that are very short.

Per minute charges – If your file goes for more than one minute, the charge will be per minute. This is the rate that is usually offered to clients. Also included in this rate are the download time and the expenses for the internet incurred while downloading.

Per hour charges. This is a rate that often applies to service transcription wherein the client is dictating while a typist is hammering on the keyboard what he or she says. In this type of service it would do you good to find the fastest typist so you can have the greatest value for your payment.

Per line charges – In this kind of rate you pay for each line that is on the final document. This is also a common rate among transcription companies. Usually when there are 65 characters found in one line. You will pay cents per line.

Editing charges – If you really want to have a result that has a high quality then you can request for the transcription to be edited but you have to be prepared to pay a higher rate for this.

Duration of service – If you give headway with your orders your rate will be the common rates but if you want the result to be given immediately then you will have to pay more as the company will have to employ more people to do the task faster.

Special charges – This might occur when there is more effort done in doing with situations such as audio quality that is poor, accent that is thick, interviewees in lectures, focus groups, panel discussion.
